The Renaissance Aotearoa Foundation (founded 24 August 1999), is a NZ charitable trust registered with the Charities Services Number CC36331. 

Charitable Purposes

To undertake, promote, support and encourage the economic, social cultural, environmental and spiritual sustainability of all people in New Zealand, so that we leave for all our children and up to seven generations of children hence, a better world than was left to us.

  • To sponsor, support and foster leadership within New Zealand and to display New Zealand’s leadership worldwide
  • To hold and promote hui, conferences, seminars, meetings, lectures, educational courses to disseminate as widely as possible the findings and other Information which are the subject matter of the trust
  • To undertake, promote, support and encourage
    • the creation, growth and effectiveness of primary, secondary, tertiary and advanced educational institutions,
    • inter-cultural exchange
    • the development of business sponsoring art and art sponsoring business
  • To focus on economic, social, cultural and environmental initiatives that improve the quality of life in New Zealand.

These include but are not limited to:

Economic

 

Undertaking, promoting, supporting and encouraging the

 

  • Creation of self-employment and small business opportunities for people suffering poverty, especially the indigenous peoples of New Zealand and of Oceania living in New Zealand, and people whose social support systems have broken down or which are inadequate
  • Development of rural industry that relieves pressure on the urban centres, and which allows smaller communities to become economically sustainable,
  • Development of urban industry that relieves pressure on the social welfare systems, and which allows disadvantaged peoples to become economically sustainable

Advising, making representations or otherwise notifying government, business, social and other institutions, representatives and the media, on economic, social, environmental, cultural and other models that promote wealth creation which benefits New Zealanders generally, from all socioeconomic backgrounds in a way that promotes and supports broad-based sustainability

 

Social

 

Undertaking, promoting, supporting and encouraging

 

  • Integration and re integration of elders into society
  • Structures, systems and programmes that provide for the protection, education, guidance, and other benefit for the young, especially those who might suffer from the breakdown of the family and extended community support systems
  • Structures, systems and programmes that provide for the protection, education, guidance, and other benefit for families, especially those families which may be suffering from the breakdown of the family and extended community support systems

Cultural

 

Engendering support for the

 

  • Visual arts, especially painting, sculpture and related arts, with an emphasis on increasing the number and quality of active collectors, benefactors and sponsors – both within New Zealand and internationally – of New Zealand art and creative works,
  • Musical, dance and theatrical arts, With an emphasis on increasing active involvement by the business community

Fostering, encouraging, and assisting performing arts

Further developing support for indigenous art, With an emphasis on economic sustainability Without corrupting the indigenous cultural strength

Environmental

 

Undertaking, promoting, supporting and encouraging development of environmentally sustainable building, transportation and related initiatives including the building of sustainable villages, and use of technology to reduce harmful environmental impact of human activity

Promoting land use methods making maximum use of renewable sources of energy and effecting damage to the environment

Grant bursaries or scholarships for the purposes of promoting and actively assisting ill the promoting of the aforesaid objects of the trust

Undertake, promote, support and encourage such other charitable purposes as the Trustees may decide
